Here are the advantages of an outdoor wedding.
1. Living in the Rocky Mountains, there are a variety of outdoor wedding venues. These venues can be as simple as your own backyard or your campsite. You can pick a beautiful lake, river or mountain top. If you have dreamed of a more elaborate wedding venue, then perhaps you would like to consider the local country club/golf club or a ski resort. A few possibilities for an outdoor wedding in Colorado include the following locations:
Trinchera Blanca Ranch – Fort Garland, CO
Elk Camp – Snowmass Resort, CO
Wild Basin Lodge and Event Center – Allenspark, CO
Stonebrook Manor Event Center and Gardens – Thornton, CO
Briarhurst Manor Estate – Manitou Springs, CO
Hillside Gardens – Colorado Springs, CO
The Broadmoor – Colorado Springs, CO
Garden of the Gods Resort and Club – Colorado Springs, CO
River Crest Cabins – South Fork, CO
2. Nature’s beauty will be in every aspect and photo of your wedding day. Let’s face it, picking the right location for your wedding is critical. Think about this: do you want your photos taken in an indoor space or do you want trees, a river or lake? That is really a personal preference and only you can decide what you want on your special day.
3. COVID-19 has changed the way couples view their wedding day. Yes, 2021 will still have restrictions on the number of guests. No couple wants to put their guests at risk. Outdoor weddings provide a little extra comfort that everyone will be safer. Truthfully, I see couples gravitating toward outdoor weddings for quite some time. Outdoor weddings were trending prior to the pandemic, and I see that trend continuing for several years.
In fairness, I will address the elephant in the room. When considering an outdoor wedding, weather is an issue. Yep, it could rain on your wedding day. Do you have the ability to shift your wedding day timeline to accommodate poor weather? If not, then this may be too risky. Will you feel that your wedding will be ruined if you have to change the ceremony to under a white tent? If so, then don’t chance an outdoor wedding. For those of you who would get married regardless of rain, you absolutely have what it takes to have an outdoor wedding! The most important goal is that you have an enjoyable and memorable day.
